Here’s another little video of what I’ve be up to this year. I’ve been too busy to blog.. so thought I would condense it all onto a video! I’ve met some amazing people, each with a different story to tell. Can’t believe the year has whizzed by and I’m already putting up the Christmas tree! Don’t forget that vouchers are available for Christmas, a personal timeless gift. In the meantime, enjoy what I’ve been up to. If you would like more information on my natural family photography, please contact me HERE.
So this is a first for me….taking the time to reflect on my last years work as a children’s family photographer. I think it’s a great thing to do. Not just to show my past and future clients what I have been up to during the year but for myself. To remind myself of what a privilege it is to be asked to photograph families, newborns and relationships. For them to let me into their lives and share their milestones. Or simply to capture the simplicity of their day.
Although I have photographed many families last year I have not been able to include everyone. For this I do apologise! As you can imagine I have many more favourites and have found it hard to whittle it down to a mere 90 photos! Please take the time to sit back and enjoy my little slideshow. If you would like to know more about my relaxed style of photographing friends and families then send me an email with your details and I will be happy to discuss your needs. Just here! I am looking forward to what 2015 has to bring.
Wow it seemed only a few weeks ago that I was in this church photographing the twins big brother Evan’s christening. Therefore, it was lovely to catch up with family and friends. It was a seamless christening and the service was beautiful. The girls Genevieve and Eleanor were perfectly behaved as were all the children. Its not easy to sit still for too long when you are under five. However, as a children’s photographer I had my eye on the kids waiting for those moments that I love. After the ceremony all the family gathered in the Hotel du Vin in Cheltenham for drinks and a game of pass the babies! The girls were so good at being passed around as I took their portraits with anyone that wanted a cuddle. I love this last shot of the two Grandmothers sharing the feeding duties whilst the parents had a brief glass of bubbly. Well deserved. I do love to photograph a christening as it is a celebration of the children and family. If you would like to know more about my natural photography please contact me here.
I know, I know , I know…..I’m running very behind with my blogs but I seem to be just as busy after Xmas as before! I will get there in the end. I always feel honoured to be chosen as the family photographer to document my clients special occasions. This was Evan’s christening and the whole family was visiting from Ireland to celebrate.
As a documentary, reportage family photographer I tend to hide so people don’t really notice they are being photographed. I found a lovely spot at the front of the church. However, Evan spotted me and found this highly amusing. After the ceremony we headed off to The Montpellier Chapter Hotel in Cheltenham to continue the celebrations in style.
One thing I am conscious of as a baby photographer is how tired my babies get when they are centre of attention and need to work quickly to capture those natural smiles before it all goes pear shaped. Evan was passed around like a never ending game of pass the parcel and he seemed to lap it up. Not once did he complain he just kept on going. A delight for the photographer.
It is always a pleasure to have returning customers especially when I have been apart of their wedding day too. It feels like being part of their growing family. I was therefore delighted to photograph Elizabella’s christening in Charlton King’s Cheltenham and then for a reception at Monty’s Brasserie. Elizabella held court throughout the service and in fact I caught her several times looking fondly at the vicar, despite the cold water experience! She was happy to be passed around like pass the parcel interacting with everyone. Looking forward to our next session and capturing that cheekiness which I know is within!
I was asked to photograph James and Olly’s christening very lastminute dot com. Fortunately I was available and understood that something sometimes are just lastminute. I tend to work a bit like that too! It was a lovely christening with family coming from abroad , up north and the local lot! The lovely thing about christening is that children are very much welcome and enjoy a bit of audience participation. I love the shot of the little boy in the middle of the aisle trying to up stage the vicar. The boys were very good at having the holy water poured over their heads and there was lots of empathy from the adults. Everyone enjoyed a celebration afterwards at the Exmouth arms. I love the shots of James thinking about tasting the cake but being warned not to. Then a second later the deed was done! As a child photographer I am always anticipating whats going on in their heads. I am in process of putting your book together and enjoying every moment. Here are a few of my favourites.
Last year I photographed the christening of Scarlett Griffin. I haven’t posted any of their photo shoots on my blog as I know they were to be kept a surprise for Christmas. Well, now Christmas is over and done with I can finally share some of the photos. Its quite amazing for me as I am useless at keeping secrets. Scarlett looked a peach in her gorgeous dress as did her Mum! The afternoon was spent at Ellenborough park where the kids were fully entertained with Punch and Judy and a bouncy castle. As a children’s family photographer this was the perfect setting as I could snap away to my heart’s content. More to follow…………
I went to photograph the christening of Millie Jane in the beautiful village of West Dean. It was a lovely family affair as usual. Millie and Daisy were very well behaved in Church infact rather enjoyed being in the spot light. They looked stunning in their dresses. Thank you so much for a lovely day. There are many more photos but these are some of my favourites. x
A while ago I went to photography Logan’s christening in Christchurch Cheltenham. He has been in my thoughts lately as he has been a poorly boy. Despite his tribulations he seems to be one chilled out boy. He was a very good boy in church and behaved impeccably. Love this first shot. See you on Sunday for the Birthday party. Laura x
I had the pleasure of photographing Grace’s christening. It was a lovely sunny day and a very personal, intimate service. Grace was wearing the most beautiful dress…….of course! Finally I got a stunning shot of Helen that she actually liked! Phew………… looking forward to seeing the book. Here are just a few favourites from the day. Thanks for the champagne in Hotel Du Vin. x
