The Thompson Family

I was delighted to be asked back to photograph the Thompson family, as they have a new addition to the family………..Laura! This time we spent time at home just chilling out. I love the shot of Toby washing his car. (Although it looked pretty clean to me) . They say you should never work with children and animals and I do both. So it was great to get Roly the dog involved as he is of course a very important part of the family. Toby enjoyed playing with his train set and reading his favourite books. I love the concentration on his face. Laura’s bedroom was pure and pretty and we couldn’t resist putting her in her towelling robe. She looked just ready for the spa….. darling!

June 21, 2010 - 12:38 pm Laura - Sarah, you'll be pleased to know you are not the only customer that has happy tears! x

June 20, 2010 - 8:45 pm Sarah Thompson - Yet another huge thankyou to you (Laura) for coming to our home and taking such wonderful photos of our growing family, you really are so talented at capturing the children and the roly woof - woof ! - these photos will always give us so much pleasure and happy tears xx

Francis Family

Danielle was very kindly bought a family photography session as a gift. Although the Francis family have four lovely children we decided to concentrate on the newest member of the family, Henry. Danielle also seemed sure that this would be her last. Never say never !! Henry was a happy baby and loved playing with his big brother William. When the girls came home I could not resist a family shot and all four kids together. Rare moments not to be missed.

Florence

Well, as you can tell I am on a role with gorgeous babies at the moment. However each baby, family, home is unique. Hopefully this is reflected in my photos. I just let things happen and use my heart when I see something. I was delighted to be asked to photograph Florence at her home. She was a very placid baby who enjoyed lots of attention. However all that attention can be tiring! She seemed to nod off quite easily with the little help from gentle rocking and her thumb! Perfect.

May 9, 2010 - 6:37 pm laura - Yes I spotted this gorgeous throw on the bed. Fortunately she was a good sleeper.

May 9, 2010 - 5:11 pm Heulwen Rees - love the colour one of Florence on the bed - beautiful!

Luka and Maya

Camilla was very generously  bought a photo shoot from one of my clients. It was to celebrate the arrival of Luka. Very gorgeous he was too. I went to visit them at home, despite having the builders in for a kitchen extension. There is no time like the present. No point in waiting for the perfect moment…. as the moment is now. Fortunately Luka and Maya were a delight to photograph so  it made my job very easy. Maya loved watching her little brother ( and the TV). What struck me about both Luka and Maya is they shared the most beautiful skin and dark engaging eyes. Lucky them! My favourite is the one of Maya looking over mummies shoulder. Hope you have a great holiday and that volcano behaves itself.

Daisy and Holly

Well I am on a two week Easter Break with the Family. No school runs……. Bliss! However I have discovered that the hotel has internet access and I can just sneak in a couple of updates on my blog whilst the family are otherwise engaged!

I went to meet Alison and John’s lovely girls Daisy and Holly at their home. Despite having a rough night  everyone was in good spirits on. Holly was just 6 weeks old and Daisy had just become the new ‘big sister’. Two little girls that seem to get on well already. Holly seemed in awe of her big sister and Daisy not phased at all by the new arrival. Holly was a very happy baby and smiled on queue. I enjoyed just hanging out with the girls, reading Beatrix Potter and playing with necklaces.! I look forward to meeting them again in the summer.

Freddie

With some of my customers it feels like deja-vu . This was definately the case with Hilary, Matt and their boys Paddy and Freddie. It was nearly 3 years ago that I photographed them and it felt like last week! Freddie was the new addition to the family and he certainly seemed very laid back with gorgeous big blue eyes. Paddy is a very caring, affectionate big brother. Freddie you don’t know how lucky you are!! It was a pleasure to photograph this lovely family. I was delighted with the results. I have many favourites but the first one is my absolute favourite! Enjoy………

Bronte

I was very excited about my next shoot as I had met this lovely family before but not for photography. Bronte is a beautiful baby girl with gorgeous eyes and a great mass of dark hair, just like her mum!  Laurel is a very loving  little sister with a great imagination for mermaids. I was pleased that we managed to get some shots of them together as we did have mothers day looming and I knew I had a task to fulfill. Unfortunately Bronte had a bout of colic and was happiest bounced up and down in pouch attached to her mum (rather like a kangaroo). Great for colicky babies not so great for photographers. I particularly like these first two as it tells it as it is. Patience is a virtue …………mothers need lots of it sometimes.

March 26, 2010 - 2:06 pm Heulwen Rees - love the photo of big sis with her sister! the 2 photos of Bronte in the pouch are stunning too.

Amazing Grace 2

The best thing about my job is that I get to see my little babies grow up! (Although it does make me feel like a Grandma sometimes.) The first year is when they grow so much. That is why, once you have paid for your photo shoot, it is valid for one year and you don’t pay for another one….. only the photos. So you can get me back again and again to capture the different stages. This was Grace’s second shoot and it was her first Xmas.Looking forward to seeing both Helen and Grace again soon. I have lots of favourites as usual……..

March 23, 2010 - 4:11 pm Heulwen Rees - love the photos of her sleeping.

Ethan Christmas Eve

So this was supposed to be a Pregnancy Bump photo shoot but Ethan decided to join the world a little earlier. He must have been excited about Xmas! I do enjoy photographing babies when they are just a few weeks old. It such a magical time, especially when it is your first. You can almost see them growing they grow so fast. That is why I like to capture their vulnerability. I really like the one of Peter, Amilie and Ethan on the bed. Its very ‘Hello Magazine’ but who cares if you look gorgeous!. Looking forward  to seeing you all again in the summer and meeting more of the family. Here are some of my favourites…….

Bump and Babe

Rina was at the blooming stage of her pregnancy when I was asked to photograph her at home with her family. This is where I got to meet Max who loved playing with his cars. I spotted a beautiful painting at the top of the stairs, which apparently Max thinks is Mummy. Gorgeous! Max wasn’t too interested in mummy’s tummy unless he could use it for driving his car up. I love the shot of Max in the kitchen asking for more food. Very Oliver . Baby Jonas arrived on time (as planned) and I came back to photograph the new addition to the family. He is a beautiful baby with the most amazing skin. I was very impressed that he could drink from a cup at just a few weeks old. We’ll have him drinking pints in no time!
