Mr and Mrs Tierney

Firstly I must apologize for the lack of blogs but I am on holiday until mid August. Back in the land of paprika, hot spas, salami and best of all lake Balaton.  Despite this I did manage to pop back and photograph Fiona and Richard’s delightful wedding. It was a very happy and relaxed day ( most chilled out wedding I have ever photographed ). The children stole the show with their readings, witty speeches and  musical performances. I am looking forward to showing you all the photos but here are a few to keep you going. A few more than usual, as I feel guilty that I am on holiday! Hope you had a great break away.

Fiona and Richard

I was delighted to be asked to photograph Fiona and Richard’s wedding this July. They thought they wouldn’t be doing the ‘wedding thing’ again but you all know my moto……Never say Never! I am so looking forward to it as the children will be very much apart of the special occasion. I went to meet all the family at their home in Wilersey. The girls were very natural and very gorgeous! I love the one of Georgina and the her cat. I’ve put far too many on the blog but i just can’t choose. The happy couple!

June 22, 2010 - 8:30 pm Laura - I know .....lovely family can't wait for the wedding! x

June 22, 2010 - 4:09 pm Elaine Steinberg - Absolutely stunning stunning stunning pictures !!!!!! I know you have such fabulous individuals to work with i.e. all stuning looking individuals but you have totally captured the love and family bond in these photos luv them CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!!!

The Grandchildren

The main aim of this session was to get a shot of all the grandchildren together. Katy was the youngest and at first didn’t want to comply but gradually with lots of distraction, encouragement and patience she fitted in nicely. Then they were all set free to do their own thing. I love the shots of Alice, she’s a natural beauty with striking eyes. Teenagers don’t know how gorgeous they are. We had lots of bright sunshine, which can be a nightmare for me but great for our spirits. The boys enjoyed playing with the rocket launcher and making lots of bubbles. Looking forward to making up your books.

The Thompson Family

I was delighted to be asked back to photograph the Thompson family, as they have a new addition to the family………..Laura! This time we spent time at home just chilling out. I love the shot of Toby washing his car. (Although it looked pretty clean to me) . They say you should never work with children and animals and I do both. So it was great to get Roly the dog involved as he is of course a very important part of the family. Toby enjoyed playing with his train set and reading his favourite books. I love the concentration on his face. Laura’s bedroom was pure and pretty and we couldn’t resist putting her in her towelling robe. She looked just ready for the spa….. darling!

June 21, 2010 - 12:38 pm Laura - Sarah, you'll be pleased to know you are not the only customer that has happy tears! x

June 20, 2010 - 8:45 pm Sarah Thompson - Yet another huge thankyou to you (Laura) for coming to our home and taking such wonderful photos of our growing family, you really are so talented at capturing the children and the roly woof - woof ! - these photos will always give us so much pleasure and happy tears xx

Sweet 16

Well I nearly fell off my chair when my 16 year old daughter Emilie asked me to photograph her with her friends for her 16th birthday. I was so surprised as I (as her unbiased mother ) thinks she’s a stunning beauty and would love to photograph her more but seem to get the hand in front of the lens treatment lately! So not only do I have a gorgeous girl but it seems all of her friends are too. They were all good fun and up for anything. Jo I hope you like the wallpaper? Some were more camera shy than others but I got them to practise their facebook pout. Here are just a small selection of the shoot. Emilie had a great time as I know how important her friends are to her (more than revision!). Good luck with the GCSE’S girls and good luck too if you are moving on to a new school.Emilie is going to miss you .x

The Evans family

I went to meet the Evans family at their home near Stroud. Being a bit of a Towny, I enjoyed being in the countryside for the morning. Alice , Bryn and Lily were great to photograph. Fortunately the weather was kind to us and the kids were happy playing in their fantastic, huge garden (the downside to being a Towny…..small garden!) They enjoyed good classic fun like mud pies, swings and tea parties. Although Lily looks a little disgruntled in the tea party shot……..but that’s life! We then decided to make some real cakes whilst Lily went for her morning nap. Chloe told me that she’s the one taking all the family photos, therefore she’s not well represented in the family albums. I was concious of this and wanted to capture her naturally with her family. After all mothers do all the hard work……we deserve to be recognised!! xxx

Francis Family

Danielle was very kindly bought a family photography session as a gift. Although the Francis family have four lovely children we decided to concentrate on the newest member of the family, Henry. Danielle also seemed sure that this would be her last. Never say never !! Henry was a happy baby and loved playing with his big brother William. When the girls came home I could not resist a family shot and all four kids together. Rare moments not to be missed.

Jane and Daryl’s wedding

Oh I do love a wedding……….best day of your life.  Much better than childbirth!  This was a fantastic venue . Walcot Hall in Lydbury, North Shropshire. A beautiful stately home with a very friendly, warm, relaxed feel. I loved the chickens running around the front of the house. I have photographed Jane before as a bridesmaid so it was a pleasure to photograph her as the bride. What a beautiful bride she was too. I love making people feel relaxed and taking the really natural ones. I always think they are the best!  There was lots of laughter at this wedding . I had a great day I hope you can tell!

Jacki Rodikis

My life as a family photographer is incredibly fulfilling and rewarding. I love the people I meet and get a unique glimpse into their lives. Sometimes I feel honoured to be asked to capture peoples lives. This next client I have photographed on a few occasions with her family. However this was this was one of those moments where I felt truly honoured. I was asked to photograph the launch of her first book ‘ Because you’re a Woman’. It is the true, honest story of her tragic life and how she overcomes the terrible abuse inflicted upon her. Very easy to read . I know it sounds like a cliche but I swear I could not put this book down.

June 15, 2010 - 9:29 pm Jacki Rodikis - Laura has photographed me, my children and grandchildren on several occasions in the past few years and I have always been delighted with the results. Her knack of picking the right moment to take a picture is amazing. So it was no difficult decision to ask her to photograph one of the most important days in my life - the launch party for my book 'Because you're a Woman'. And once again she came up trumps. The resulting set of pictures will be a wonderful lifelong reminder of this very special day.

Florence

Well, as you can tell I am on a role with gorgeous babies at the moment. However each baby, family, home is unique. Hopefully this is reflected in my photos. I just let things happen and use my heart when I see something. I was delighted to be asked to photograph Florence at her home. She was a very placid baby who enjoyed lots of attention. However all that attention can be tiring! She seemed to nod off quite easily with the little help from gentle rocking and her thumb! Perfect.

May 9, 2010 - 6:37 pm laura - Yes I spotted this gorgeous throw on the bed. Fortunately she was a good sleeper.

May 9, 2010 - 5:11 pm Heulwen Rees - love the colour one of Florence on the bed - beautiful!
